Our faces that were wilted immediately shined. For youth, no happiness can compare to the bonus. Every holiday is the time we enjoy this happiness completely, without any boring.
I opened the envelope. As usual, there was the handwriting in the crease: “Happy holiday Bella” + the smiling face of boss. The line wasn’t so long, but it was enough to make me desist…
I remembered the last bonus times: mid-autumn, 2/9 and even when I went travel, visited my parent, she always gave me a white envelope, with money and this line. I thought, why didn’t she use the bank transfer? And I answered myself, ah, it was not the end of month, so directly withdraw money was more simple.
Until that day, in the end of month, salary would came,. But the bonus still was in the envelope… Sometimes, I asked myself, how did boss think when she wrote these lines for us?
Because in fact, she was very busy. It was normal when she stayed alone working in the company until 8, 9pm. Or when she chatted with us, said goodbye at 10pm, but worked until 2, 3am was nothing strange. So with a busy woman like this, there were available staffs, why did she choose a tired work like that?
Moreover, the past month was truly a month I worked ineffective. 30 days, over 20 days I had to go to her room and listened to the complaint. So that one day, she had to say that she tired of me, she was too exhausted to scold at me. At that time, I quietly left the room in sadness because I thought: I will die surely!
Therefore, if I was her, I wouldn’t had enough patient to prepare each envelope like her.
And why did I have to think about this bonus, when this employee was not really doing her job well? It was very generous when I didn’t minus her salary, why should I give her bonus?
I believed this the difference between leader and staff. The leader is always torn between so many things. Like, bonus to give staff a happier holiday, don’t bonus, they didn’t do anything so well to be remunerated, bonus more because they had tried their best, bonus less, to save fee for company. Whatever decision, they have their own reasons.
Boss and I were also like that. Why did she choose to give bonus for staff when they hadn’t done well? Why did she choose to write by hands even though she was busy? Because, more than anything, her reason was the emotion of staffs. Bonus, itself was the heart of boss. So, staffs should feel about it. Not to be grateful, but to let them know they were really cared and watched.
Holding the envelope with that lines in my hand, I felt so happy. I was happy because I had money for my holiday, and happy because I felt a peace in my heart.
