The topic is: How to increase the eager spirit when working.
I don’t remember my reaction when heard boss talked about the first two things. But the 3rd one was the most impressive. A rule that when she said it, we disoriented. We looked at each other, ask ourselves if our ears have some problems.
“You have 24 days a year to take the sabbatical. Whoever won’t use your sabbatical, I will kill you.”
“Huh? Really? Why are you so generous?”
“Yes, I need your soul to be rick, so I support you to spend your time your family, your lover, to experience more new things.”
I was so excited, continuously nod my head. From now on, no one had to think about sabbatical any more. Just feel free for taking the sabbatical!
But, the reality was not like that.
Mr Tien, the elder brother of the sales team. I don’t know what time was it, but it was the time when his girlfriend was going to come back from studying abroad. We all knew it, so we asked him again and again, why don’t you take the day off to go out with her, when will you go, where will you go…
He mumbled: Yeah, let me think.
Mulled over. Finally, she’d came back but I hadn’t took any day off.
We was so surprised and reproached him so many things. We said he was heartless, he was so stupid, he didn’t know how to warm the love. But after that, when we sat together, we found that he didn’t take the day off because he thought he owed teammates so many things.
"How could I go out when in the end of the year, every friend on the team had to fight with six or seven quotes a day. Then boss, she was always busy in evening in the company up to 7, 8 pm. But no one complained, no one resigned. The salary paid for me, isn't it because boss had to think day and night, marketing ran programs, sales strive with contrast? " He was unfolding his heart like that.
And in fact, I and other teammates were also like that. At least once time we hesitated to ask for the day off. Not because we fear that the day off was over, it is because we thought that we still owed this place, where had a workaholics boss, had not took any day off but always told us to go out, go travel, where had the teammates gave up their trip to complete the work. So, what season we could use to happy our own happiness, while the work hadn't been done yet?
Clearly, we had increased our energetically working spirit. Not for the rules nor being forced. It is because of the sincerity of boss. So that, don’t afraid to let the employees have sabbatical. Because when boss thinks by heart for the need of staffs, this is time for them to work by heart for the company.
