Incredible Women

When checking through Story at Saxa’s readers, I recognize, 60% of them are female. The number is not so special, if I do not either learn about some other similar statistics. Most of our teachers are female. 70% of parents picking up us at school gate, talking and teaching us are moms. In many advanced classes I joined, most of my classmates were women. In six companies I used to work, female staff were more than 50%.

The number itself cannot say anything until it is put aside the percentage of successful people in society. I have ever worked with female bosses. All of them were men. In the most of honor prizes, 80% of those who achieved were male. Or even the ideal people we admire so much today in every fields, still gentlemen like Steve Jobs, Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Zeff Bezos, or Mark Zuckerberg.

Women, they appear everywhere around us and in our lives. They do the hardest jobs that require lots more efforts and dedication. And, they are the least successful ones. The fact could make you and me a bit sad and down.

But I have not finished my story yet. There is another small fact. Last afternoon, when I was cleaning up my stuff to go home, the page Story at Saxa received a message from a closed fan. She told that she had just joined a Worldwide Energy Industry Conference, hold in Abu Dhabi, one of the richest city in the globe. The Muslim country always heads in energy industry and is so strict to choose partner. She was the first Vietnamese person, represented the first Vietnamese company, had been invited to it. She is not even 24 years old. The invitation letter was a result of a long journey when she had to, by herself, do all research, introduce, follow consistently, apply for visa or find the cheapest airline ticket. She brought such a great honor to the company she just was working for.

I know the Gender Equality is still not enough in this century. But I also trust that, the number is just number. It does not represent us. Everyone of us, has the different identity. Although we are men or women, we all have the same gift from God which is the right to rise up, persistently and believably. The belief sometimes makes us down, like Hillary Clinton has ever “won” the gentlemen like Mr. Obama or Mr. Trump in the race to White House, but the hope and belief will never lose in American people or any country. People continue cheers to Michelle Obama to run for the next presidential election. In Germany, Korea or Myanmar, the stories of female leaders are not strange anymore.

Maybe, in the next four years or four more years, if there is any woman who runs for the USA presidential election, my teammates and I at Saxa will still think it is a good reason to bet, and impliedly know that the number of people who votes for women are always more. Even if they lost for Hillary like last time by 8/11. We do not talk about women’s rights, but hope. The incredible results will finally come out if we keep trying. We can get disappointed but we will keep hoping. We can fall but will never stop stand up again and run for success, can’t we?
