Let’s keep curious to the end!

 

Many of us are at Saxa at different times. As Hanah, Alex and Erick have been 2 years in company, Sarah and Moony followed boss from the beginning of the company. For me, Jenny and Sally, we are in the same stage with each other, few months. Because 3 of us are youngest seniority in the house, seem more disadvantages in the intimate level than everybody, awful pity.

But it my because I’m too… gossip, curious so that I feel disadvantages myself, the others don’t say anything about it. Moreover, it is because people in this company have very strange activities so that I couldn’t stand keeping curiosity. I remembered one time I heard Mandy talk with herself  “Don’t bite Bella, don’t bite Bella” when she was staring at the computer screen, one time Erick send me a poem, written by himself – while he is a designer, or one day Moon yell at Hanah just because she asked teammates for help her fix the printed file… That’s so weird, and every time I wanted to ask, I didn’t know where to begin, maybe it was their style that I didn’t use to yet. So I gave up.

And so, the big pile of questions contained in me every day. Then I felt distant myself with everybody. I just stayed quiet and chuckled like I never minded. I wondered if boss understand the psychology of me or not, but we had variables that day. "From now on, every Saturday, we will divide the group and spent about 2 hours to brainstorm together. Do not talk about work, just to share with each other about what you want your teammates to comment for you, work together to find solutions in the development of yourself! "

Oh, sharing, it seemed like this was a change for me to understand more about my teammate. I like it. Partly because I would be answer my question for long time, partly because I also wanted to have some advices about my “behavior” n company. But the brainstorm session that day wasn’t as I expected.

There are things that will not just look to see, hear and to understand. Without sharing that afternoon, I did not understand that, Mandy mumbled herself not to bite somebody to rein her aggression back when she protectd her political views, to set more calmly. Everyone knows that when Erick entered company for the first days, he was told to be cold, unfeeling with almost everyone. So that kid learned to make poem, write diary, drive around the city observing people ... to find some warming inspirations. I was answered my curiosity but realized that I don’t  know anything about them at all.

Because I only wonder to wonder. I curious because of ... curiosity. So I can only see things, but cannot understand hiding behind them, always be a story. I thought the observation is a vital skill to easily integrate into the work, but forget that, observation has to come with care. Only if there is care, I truly understand the anxiety, difficulty or expectations inside people.

By the way, the care is really wonderful. It had taken me from a passive position of separation, into a more actively inquired people. I no longer feel lost again, and suddenly see why I have so many brothers, just knew each but look like I knew them for a long time. I feel like to work, and expect for Saturday more. Brainstorm every week makes many new things. We have to watch the evolution of each other closely in every next week. Truly saying, I like this “curious to the end” activity so much, it makes working time become funny than ever.
