10 mark in Literature sounds ridiculous! 

Seriously, during 12 grades of my school time, I had never thought the number was real. If yes, if just happened for some people who are always outstanding, have talent and full of emotion. I was definitely not in the list. Therefore, I also have never thought about trying to get the perfect mark in the subject. 

The highest mark in Literature I have got was at grade 7. That was a summer homework, the mark did not count in semester total point with topic: “Write about the most influential person in your life”. I wrote about a special teacher and I got 9 for the essay. I could not describe how I was happy at that moment because I had written with all my heart and moreover, I had boldly tried to get the highest score. Until now I still remember I had not stopped smiling during the class whenever I looked at the red pen feedback from my Literature teacher: “Very emotional”. Since then I saw it as my own limit. 

I kept in my mind that thought till I have been working at Saxa for a few months. My job as a copywriter is all about writing, working with letters every hour, every day. And here, my “teacher” does not accept any 9 mark essay. 

In the past 6 months, I have written thousands of pages. The process of writing, deleting then rewriting seemed never end. It happened everyday. I struggled with many kinds of tips and recipes to get a 9, once. But even when I got the mark, even when I met it again, I still had to delete and rewrite. Every time I got feedback from my boss with the same content: “I want a 10 mark piece of art.”, I understood my product had not been perfect enough. Not because it was not good, just because it has not reached my best yet. And at Saxa, we cannot deal with everything which is not good, not the best. 

Then I remembered about my last time 9 mark essay. It did not naturally come to me. It was the result of passing my limits and putting my complete emotion into each letter. And I made it. I just realize, there will be no recipe that helps me to get a 10 mark piece of art or a successful job if I do not put my heart into every single thing I am doing. And if I do not set my limit higher than what I am having, maybe I will never be better than the average.
