What is the “Mountain” inside you?

 

When I was a child, there was a col near my house. For a 10 year old girl, the col was higher than any slope around. It was so tall that I did not dare to ride to the peak and see what was on the other side myself. I just kept wondering but ever tried once. 
Until my father and I went back to my granny’s house, I had chance to find out the secret. We travelled on a bike and it took a half day to get there. From the peak, I could see a small village under many huge mountains, surround by a long river. The scenery appeared unclearly behind the fog and cloud that I will never forget. Such a far and vast skyline. I asked my father “Have we arrived already?”, but he smiled and said “Silly you, we just left home a few minutes.”
That was the first time I knew that after the col which I though was the highest, still there were many other different mountains and different roads. If I did not pass the col on that day, I might never know how small I was.
When I first got a job, the “mountain” inside me was ranks. That’s why I always tried to get higher and was satisfied with the road I passed. Until, I met her.
That was the day she told me about her project. It made me speechless for a while because they were the “mountains” I have ever seen before. The community project about books, an inspiring campaign and spreading kindness that would help change Vietnam companies to be real-happy-places. The “mountain” was too huge that an inexperienced young person like me cannot even image. I was a bit shy when asking for a chance to join.
She is my boss at Saxa. After working here for few months, I realized that Saxa is not a “mountain”. Saxa is the road that we are building together to pass our limits, conquer higher “mountains” in the journey. The “mountain” inside me is to create marketing campaigns that can go viral. For Erick, our designer, is to convey meaningful messages. Or for Bu, is to open a new world that readers will want to come in via her book. And for Saxa, it is to create a proud heritage. And there’s no any other way to get there, but walking on the road.
The cols and the mountains I have passed, their peaks were just the limit of eyesight, not the end of the road. They are just one point on the road maintaining many points like that. The present will appear when we climb to the top.
What is the “mountain” inside you? No matter what happens, just keep climbing to the last summit. You are not alone!
