When should we give another an opportunity?​

I remember about a year ago, the day I first met Mandy. That is day Mandy went to interview for the position of Marketing. Different from the common proactivity, that day boss was kind of embarrassing in the interview with Mandy. The little girl sat with 3 other friends, replied with both eyes looked like brimmed with tears.

At Saxa we do not follow traditional marketing. CEOs want marketing team to invent ways to make customers happier, have more than the amount they spent. Therefore, we need to find a person with deep emotion, loving people, and at least, have worked as an expert on marketing.

Mandy graduated with good degrees on Marketing in Hoa Sen University. But the experience is zero. She just hang around at the sales location for 2 years after graduated, on the grounds that the companies that she work didn't focus on marketing. She cried because she really want to pursue marketing, but no one gave her the opportunity. With such a not beautiful profile, boss decided to reject Mandy.

Before calling for the results, boss called to check again to Sarah, who will always do the job "intelligence," observed candidates before and after the interview. Sarah said simply: If possible, keep that little girl. She is the only one who has aggressively lent usb and documents for "rival" to do tests.

Every choice has its price. We chose Mandy in that interview. And of course, with thin "thickness" of her experiences, boss had struggled immensely. Wrongly writing, shallow thinking, frustrating whatever campaign is normal. There was thing we never had to worry about, it was the dedication of Mandy. She worked hard, being yelled hard and... cried hard. Crying because she felt she was too useless. Oftentimes, she made the guardian tire of her face, because she went to work on every Sunday, alone. When company needed a certain arduous task, a sudden sacrifice, or simply needed help to clean the toilets suddenly stink because someone vomited, Mandy always presented, right away.

This afternoon, boss and partner had just came eat dimsum in Tung Garden restaurant. Being discount of 20% is the achievement Mandy had earned for the company this month. Now, almost all additional utilities given to the customers are under one hand of Mandy to negotiate and brought successfully. Eating, shopping in Saigon, almost everytimes both companies and customers of Saxa are special discounted. It is because of each effort additional work of Mandy on Sunday. Alone, in silence and voluntarily.
